Daily contributes to National Academies Committee for Developing Competencies for the Future of Data and Computing
Dr. Shaundra Daily recently participated in an expert committee with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The National Academies Committee for Developing Competencies for the Future of Data and Computing: The Role of K-12 conducted a consensus study of ways K-12 education can influence future competencies in computating landscapes.
The committee had two main goals: first, to identify the competencies that students need to navigate the shifting computational landscape, and second, to propose strategies for ensuring K-12 education can succeed in addressing these needs. The committee is currently drafting a written report, which will be published.
To collaborate efforts and create a widespread impact in computing education, organizations and leaders must work together. Dr. Daily, as an expert committee member, is doing this vital work in helping improve computing education.
